A party not acting in the interests of the country

Grant Schapps joins the calls for the Prime Minister to stand down.

The Conservative party is disintegrating before our eyes with mounting pressure for the resignation of Prime Minister Teresa May. The cause of this growing dissatisfaction with the leadership is not only the disastrous decision to call a general election back in June, or the calamitous party conference in Manchester nor even the lamentable "negotiations" in respect of the United Kingdom's exit from the European Union, but an accumulation of negative effects all of which are self inflicted. The numerous factions within the Conservative party, now heap blame on each other collectively and individually for their present situation, and scrabble around looking for a solution. One faction, led it appears by Grant Schapps, calls for an immediate leadership contest, whilst another faction with Amber Rudd in front, brazenly asserts that, "Theresa May has the full support of the entire cabinet" which is so blatantly fictitious as to be laughable.

Michel Barnier, Chief Negotiator for the 27 EU countries, has already stated that the British Prime Minister has lost all credibility and legitimacy in the Brexit negotiations as her standing at home and the status of her government crumbles. The United Kingdom is a laughing stock throughout Europe if not the whole world.
This of course raises the question as to what is now in the best interests of the United Kingdom and its people? No matter how many times any of the warring factions in the Conservative party may plead to the contrary, this continued in fighting has only confirmed an opinion which many have held for some time. The conservative party is not acting in the best interest of the country. They are as they have always been, driven by the pursuit and retention of power at any cost. The June general election was called not in the interests of the nation, but with the objective of destroying the Labour party and achieving a three figure majority in the House of Commons. Then as now, the motives of both those calling for Theresa May to stand down and the supporters of the Prime Minister are driven by self interest, where on the one hand Grant Schapps and those around him, seek a new leadership without the damage inflicted since June, whilst on the other, Theresa May is determined to cling on in power, weak and unstable, supported at least in public, by some of her cabinet. The one factor that the two sides have in common, is a preponderant dread of Jeremy Corbyn and the probability of a Labour government.

The pro and anti Theresa May camps squabble continue with their struggle to achieve their own objectives. Both side know that should the Prime Minister stand down the "new" Prime Minster would be under intense pressure to hold a general election albeit that such pressure might be resisted for a time. Both sides also know what the outcome of a general election under such circumstances would be. The staggering reality is that both sides also know that the current circumstances cannot continue and that the longer this damaged and vulnerable Prime Minister limps on in power, more damage is being done to the country, the economy, its people and the credibility of the United Kingdom around the world.
The Conservatives are not governing in the interests of the country. They are shamelessly pursuing their own individual agenda's as the country suffers the consequences.

Northern Ireland and Brexit. The return of "The Troubles"

Northern Ireland: police attacked in another night of disturbances | Northern Ireland | The Guardian When the "Brexit" debate was still filling our newspapers and our television screens, readers may remember why I had changed my mind since voting to leave at the referendum vote. Apart from the economic arguments, which had become crystal clear after peeling away all the lies and misrepresentations trotted out by Bozo Boris and his "Get Brexit Done" conspirators, there was always the problem of the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Would it be possible to have a border between the European Union and the United Kingdom where people, goods and services could pass freely between the two nations without customs restrictions, tariffs, duties and all the other formalities? Would it be possible to have one part of the United Kingdom treated differently from other parts of the United Kingdom, particularly when Scotland for example had voted overwhe

The Parliamentary Labour Party conspirators are hatching another coup.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/corbyn-labour-leadership-rebel-mps-a7202641.html Labour MPs plan for Corbyn victory  and plot how to confront an emboldened leader Even for the "Independent", the number and use of unnamed anonymous "sources" in this article is quite astonishing. However, amongst all the usual speculative delusion, there is one factor which causes concern to anyone who believes in the Labour Party, its principles and in he democratic process of the Labour movement. It is abundantly clear that elements within the Parliamentary Labour Party, are even now, planning another coup in the event that Jeremy Corbyn should emerge as winner in the current ballot. The failed coup of earlier this year, has now descended into a sham leadership election, because the conspirators still fail to accept the democratic decision of the Labour party membership and cling to

New Agenda on Sunday is out Sunday, Apr. 28, 2019

https://paper.li/f-1346065353#/ Good morning everyone. Last weeks scare regarding Megan and Harry being sent to live "somewhere in Africa" seems to have been dispelled, at least for the time being. It now seems that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will take up residence in California.  Unless  they are actually  doing  some proper work in "The Golden State", I hope that they are taken off the civil list so that we do not have to fund their life choice. The nauseating Daily Mail is at it again. A headline this week, which I will not even bother to reproduce here, screams out in disgusting and repulsive bias without any acknowledgement to the factual basis of their "story". Spewing out their usual smears and embellished distortions about Hamas, the IRA, Hezbollah and the rest, the Mail condemns itself with ample justification, for the closure of a "newspaper," which again abuses 10 fold, the privilege of "freedom of t
