New Agenda on Sunday is out. Edition of 19th March 2017

https://paper.li/f-1346065353#/

Good morning everyone

There seems to be a slight problem as the paper has not arrived in my in box again this week. However, I think that I have managed to repeat "a fix" and hopefully this e-mail will have New Agenda nailed to it. On the assumption that you may be able to read both this and the paper, we shall "K B O" as someone once said.

Swing low, Sweet Chariot.

Ireland 13pts England 9 pts.
So ends the dream of back to back Grand Slams and the record of 19 straight test match wins to overtake the All Blacks record of 18 in a row. Ironically it was also the Irish who ended New Zealand's run of wins leaving England and the All Blacks level on 18 straight wins and England in second place in the World rankings table.
At any other time, taking the 6 Nations Championship and the Calcutta Cup would be and is an achievement, but this year to miss the Triple Crown and the Grand Slam somehow makes England's success in the competition seem a little hollow.
It was a poor game, as were the other two matches, and England never managed to overcome the Irish "in your face" tactics which prevented any real exhibition of open play as shown in previous games, particularly against Scotland. However, that is not intended to take anything away from Ireland who arrived at the Aviva Stadium with a game plan to disrupt and harass England and the Irish and carried out the plan perfectly.
England did not perform and paid the price. Eddie Jones still has much work to do with his pool of players before the World Cup.

Philip Hammond has learned, what others have and are learning, that with Theresa May as a friend, you do not need enemies. A complete and utter humiliation and "U turn" for Hammond, (surely his future must now be numbered in days if not hours) brought about it seems by back bench conservative MP's organised by Theresa May actively encouraged by the media. For the full story see "Humiliation for Chancellor as Theresa May sides with backbench MP's"

George Osborne has 6 jobs.Where at least 1.5 million people in this country would be thankful for one job, even if it were on minimum wage, Osborne has 6 part time jobs netting him more than £1.5 million in addition to his MP salary of £75,000 (plus "expenses").
This man has his nose into a number of trough's and laughs all the way to the bank. He should stand down as an MP.

Image result for fly tipping

Meanwhile, back in Jersey, it seems that "Fly Tipping" is a problem which is not restricted to country lanes and scenic areas of the UK mainland. Following the opening of the facility at La Collette, recycling bins were taken away from South Pier and replaced with a single bin for marina users. However, following repeated instances of abuse at the site, it has had to be removed. Elsewhere, a number of fly tipping incidents have occurred at other locations around the Island. Fly tipping is anti social behaviour by individuals or even organised groups making money from the practice. At the end of the day, we pick up the price for clearing away the fly tippers mess. Anyone indulging in this activity, whether individuals or organised groups should be severly punished.

The weather over the past week has produced warm temperatures. The "experts" are predicting frost and snow by the end of the coming week. Today, is officially the first day of Spring 2017. What on earth is going on?
Have a nice week.

Northern Ireland and Brexit. The return of "The Troubles"

Northern Ireland: police attacked in another night of disturbances | Northern Ireland | The Guardian When the "Brexit" debate was still filling our newspapers and our television screens, readers may remember why I had changed my mind since voting to leave at the referendum vote. Apart from the economic arguments, which had become crystal clear after peeling away all the lies and misrepresentations trotted out by Bozo Boris and his "Get Brexit Done" conspirators, there was always the problem of the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Would it be possible to have a border between the European Union and the United Kingdom where people, goods and services could pass freely between the two nations without customs restrictions, tariffs, duties and all the other formalities? Would it be possible to have one part of the United Kingdom treated differently from other parts of the United Kingdom, particularly when Scotland for example had voted overwhe

The Parliamentary Labour Party conspirators are hatching another coup.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/corbyn-labour-leadership-rebel-mps-a7202641.html Labour MPs plan for Corbyn victory  and plot how to confront an emboldened leader Even for the "Independent", the number and use of unnamed anonymous "sources" in this article is quite astonishing. However, amongst all the usual speculative delusion, there is one factor which causes concern to anyone who believes in the Labour Party, its principles and in he democratic process of the Labour movement. It is abundantly clear that elements within the Parliamentary Labour Party, are even now, planning another coup in the event that Jeremy Corbyn should emerge as winner in the current ballot. The failed coup of earlier this year, has now descended into a sham leadership election, because the conspirators still fail to accept the democratic decision of the Labour party membership and cling to

Plemont development or return to nature?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-jersey-  A date has been set for a public inquiry into plans for Plemont Headland. This exceptional location must be sold to the National trust for Jersey, and returned to nature. Any other outcome involving development of the site, can only demonstrate the extent to which greed and self interest have become endemic in Jersey.
