Special Adviser to President Trump or "filling a hole" in British politics?

Tony Blair is positioning himself to return to British politics,

The British press or at least sections of it, seem to have a morbid fascination with Anthony Charles Lynton "Tony" Blair.
In the Express today (20th November 2016) there is a story that Blair could become an adviser to President elect Trump after speculation that the schmoozing former Labour leader might be fishing for a role in Trump's team. Admittedly, Blair's aides have rubbished claims that he’s vying for an advisory role in Donald Trump’s administration, blasting such rumours as “complete nonsense”.
However, with Blair's record of political opportunism and the delusion of his own importance, we never know where this martinet may materialise next.

On the other hand, perhaps it may be that the story in today’s Sunday Times that could herald the return of Blair to British politics, to play a pivotal role in shaping Britain’s Brexit deal by scouting out a power base in Westminster. It seems that the former prime minister is setting up an institute close to Whitehall and has held talks with senior ministers and officials as he seeks to re-enter British politics.
Describing Theresa May as a "lightweight" and Jeremy Corbyn as a "nutter", Blair once again reveals himself as the saviour of Britain in the face of impending catastrophe and also confirms that his megalomania has not improved.

Either of these two diametrically opposed possibilities with no doubt more to come over the next months and years, are as perverse as they are absurd. The almost constant media obsession with the former Prime Minster, or the continual conjecture as to what Blair may or may not do next, implies that he has some contribution to make and moreover that the British public are waiting with bated breath for the next epistle to be handed down from the Blair office. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are no doubt a few intractable followers of the self styled "messiah" of politics who believe that Blair and his teachings are the solution to all and every problem facing not only the United Kingdom, but of the whole world. Fortunately, these people are slowly declining in numbers as the damaged caused by his self serving actions, particularly over the years since his resignation from the Premiership, are recognised.
Blair is a discredited and duplicitous politician and the sooner the British media accept that reality and desist from giving column inches to his every utterance, the better.

Northern Ireland and Brexit. The return of "The Troubles"

Northern Ireland: police attacked in another night of disturbances | Northern Ireland | The Guardian When the "Brexit" debate was still filling our newspapers and our television screens, readers may remember why I had changed my mind since voting to leave at the referendum vote. Apart from the economic arguments, which had become crystal clear after peeling away all the lies and misrepresentations trotted out by Bozo Boris and his "Get Brexit Done" conspirators, there was always the problem of the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Would it be possible to have a border between the European Union and the United Kingdom where people, goods and services could pass freely between the two nations without customs restrictions, tariffs, duties and all the other formalities? Would it be possible to have one part of the United Kingdom treated differently from other parts of the United Kingdom, particularly when Scotland for example had voted overwhe

The Parliamentary Labour Party conspirators are hatching another coup.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/corbyn-labour-leadership-rebel-mps-a7202641.html Labour MPs plan for Corbyn victory  and plot how to confront an emboldened leader Even for the "Independent", the number and use of unnamed anonymous "sources" in this article is quite astonishing. However, amongst all the usual speculative delusion, there is one factor which causes concern to anyone who believes in the Labour Party, its principles and in he democratic process of the Labour movement. It is abundantly clear that elements within the Parliamentary Labour Party, are even now, planning another coup in the event that Jeremy Corbyn should emerge as winner in the current ballot. The failed coup of earlier this year, has now descended into a sham leadership election, because the conspirators still fail to accept the democratic decision of the Labour party membership and cling to

Plemont development or return to nature?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-jersey-  A date has been set for a public inquiry into plans for Plemont Headland. This exceptional location must be sold to the National trust for Jersey, and returned to nature. Any other outcome involving development of the site, can only demonstrate the extent to which greed and self interest have become endemic in Jersey.
