Tony Blair Backs Egypt's Military Government

Middle East "Peace Envoy", former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, ally of Clinton, "close friend" of Bush. Blair's other credentials which should feature prominently on his CV include war monger, liar, hypocrite and cheat, who still seeks to lecture the world under the dangerous delusion that he and he alone has all the answers to all the problems, and that the rest of us should defer to his superior knowledge and wisdom. In seeking to justify and defend what the whole world knows to be a coup, Blair shamelessly demonstrates his contempt for democracy unless such democracy conforms to his

It was only a matter of time.

Sooner or later the Americans would have to start the "Syria is stalling", or "Syria must comply with its obligations" or "Syria is in defiance of the International community" or some other hysterical rhetoric pouring out of Washington. We have heard it all before in some context or other. The invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan were preceded by the "International Community", otherwise known as the United States and the United Kingdom, trying to convince a skeptical world that "the bad guys" were at it again and that they must be punished. I have previously argued that it has always been the American and British objective to attack Syria and bring ab

Extradition from the United States,is very unlikely.

They'll have to catch me and pull me back, kicking and screaming into a prison I don't deserve to be in."   Amanda Knox. The Americans do not extradite any of their citizens to another country. All "Extradition Treaties" that America has with any other country in the world, only operate in one direction. In other words, if "Uncle Sam" wants you, no matter who you are or where you live, your government will fall over backward to appease the American "justice" system and pack you off to "the Land of the Free". Stephen Murphy's suggestion of an International Arrest Warrant (see comment in main article), may be an answer, but as things stand at the moment, Amanda Knox can feel smugly c

U-Turn by CPS in the case of stealing food from supermarket waste bins.

Clearly the "significant public interest" lasted less than 24 hours, which probably results from "the public" criticism, outrage and ridicule of the stupidity of the CPS bringing these charges in the first place. Someone at the CPS obviously spent a great deal of time rummaging through old legislation to find an obscure section of the 1824 Vagrancy Act under which to propose a prosecution. They would have been better employed reading "How to obtain common sense and how to apply it to your decision making". Today Baljit Ubhey from the Crown Prosecution Service

The heinous crime of stealing food from supermarket waste bins.

The Crown Prosecution Service said that the prosecution would continue as there was "significant public interest in prosecuting these three individuals". Perhaps the CPS should be informed that there is "significant public interest" in prosecuting a number of bankers, who fiddle interest rates, embezzle £millions, grow fat and rich on their ill gotten bonuses and other "perks" and benefit from "Golden Handshakes" when exposed. The public can be excused for believing that in today's sick capitalist system, stealing £33 worth of food from the waste bins of a supermarket, is a

The poor, the sick, the disabled, the benefit claimants, have had state support cut savagely as the LibDems trooped through the lobby in support of their "Coalition partners". Working people too have been attacked with reductions in working credits, wage and salary freezes, conditions and pension restrictions and the vast majority of people in the United Kingdom, have been adversely affected by the relentless increases in the price of gas, electricity, water and all the other essentials of everyday life in this country. It is not coincidental that in the four years of the ConDem coalition,

Cameron vows to cut red tape

A very laudable proposition which is always well received by the press and media. The problem with this pompous posturing, is that as fast as the scissors or shears or whatever are slashing away at the tangled undergrowth and roots of the "red tape", some faceless Whitehall civil servant is frantically scribbling away with his quill putting into "Whitehall speak" written word, the latest spouting of his Ministers whim, dogma, pet theory or harebrained sche

Butter is best

Margarine of any description, even the ones where "you wont believe its not butter", has never been on my shopping list. For many years, some doctors, medical bodies, various "old wives", experts, pundits and others have been peddling the line that butter with its saturated fats, cholesterol, calories etc etc, is very bad for us and should be avoided. The consumption of butter, was responsible for  heart disease, obesity, high cholesterol levels in the body, clogging of the ar

The hidden agenda of Kerry, Hague and the "Opposition Coalition".

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jan/22/syria-peace-talks-assad-future Syria peace talks: John Kerry leads calls for removal of President Bashar al-Assad U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon   The arrogance of Kerry and to only a slightly lesser extent Hague, demonstrating the hypocrisy and duplicity of the "Western Powers" in their continued campaign to find any excuse to attack Syria, no matter what the people of the United States or United Kingdom may say. At yesterday's (Wednesday 22nd January 2014) opening speeches to what has been described as "Geneva 11", and at news conferences later in the day, Kerry launched astonishing attacks on the so called "Assad Regime" in speeches full of rhetoric, unsubstantiated allegations and distorted history. It is indeed ironic that, after the uncompromising speech from Walid Muallem Syria's foreign minister, criticising the Western Powers for supportin

Edwina Currie is the latest Tory to join in the demeaning of Foodbank users and the charities providing the facility.

Former Tory MP Edwina Currie   Edwina Currie, former junior cabinet minister, former MP, former lover of a nondescript parliamentary whip who became prime minister, crawling out from the depths of obscurity, to demonstrate that in all of her 67 years she has learned little if anything of reality in the United Kingdom. The gross generalisations pouring out of this politician turned author confirm a lack of understanding about how and why many people today, are forced into reliance on food banks and other charities for their day to day existence. With patronising comments, poorly constructed remarks and simplistic, meanin

Miliband following Blair to complete the destruction of the Labour Party

Miliband minor should remember what Blair and Miliband major and all the other anti union "Labour" MP's attempted to forget in pursuit of the populist vote. The Trade Union Congress formed the Labour Party. It was the Trade Union Congress together with the Labour Party (in 1945 at least) who took on the employers and the ruling establishment. I have argued before and repeat now, that the TUC and all affiliated organisations should dump the Labour Party and create a Party from t

Who actually runs this country? Whether the people of the United Kingdom are pro Europe or anti Europe, remains to be seen but it is certainly not the place of some fat cat business executive on his or her over inflated salary and raking in the annual six figure (or even plus) bonus to attempt to dictate whether or no this country leaves the EU.

That quote says it all. The hypocrisy of the "Western Powers" (for that read United States and Great Britain), on any matter even remotely critical of Israel, is nauseating. It was only when Washington and London realised that the vast majority of Egyptian people were opposed to Mubarak remaining as President, and continued demonstrations could lead to a completely destabilised Egypt, with a distinct possibility for civil war, that the West changed horses, dumped Mubarak and SCAF and looked for another partner for their agenda in Egypt. An acceptable candidate was found in the form of Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and "front man", Interim President Adly Mansour. The fly in the ointment was the subsequent elections where Mohammed Morsi was elected as President. We now have the grotesque situation, where al-
