Councillor Goodman is not happy.

http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/news/10184616.Council_leader_Mike_Goodman_hits_back_over_Pavilion_internet_campaign/?action=success Council leader Mike Goodman hits back over Pavilion internet campaign Councillor Mike Goodman at the Pavilion “My inbox keeps clogging up, I keep having to delete 20, 30 or 40 emails at a time. It’s going to keep going until the end of February. I’ve got three days’ away for Local Government Association work. If I come back and my email system is completely jammed up I’m going to be furious" This pompous arse should remember that he is an elected member of the Council, a position of privilege in society. From my own experience , the "in box" of elected members is always full of correspondence from numerous bodies, people, organisations or pressure groups. It is part of the job. Now if Goodman does not want or understand this situation he should resign from the council and do something useful with h

A new Crusade

It has nothing to do with terrorism, rebels, insurgents, Islamist extremist, jihadists or any of the other emotive descriptions used by politicians and repeated parrot fashion by the media and television “pundits”. It has nothing to do, except indirectly, with the abundance of mineral resources in the country, which are currently only exploited to a fraction of their real worth. The situation in Mali today is about war. Not the war of nations as was the case in 1914 and 1939, or even the wars of the 1950's. This war in Mali, is at the same time new and almost as old as history. It is a war of religion. In exactly the same way as the Crusa

Stating what others know but will not mention.

Lib Dem MP David Ward defends remarks about Israel   Liberal Democrat MP David Ward   The compulsion for some people and organisations, and now it seems political parties, to immediately leap into defensive mode whenever criticism is voiced of Israel or of Jews, has for many years been a disturbing feature of western society. I have frequently argued that this phenomenon is essentially, brought about by a collective guilty conscience in the west, of the persecution of Jews, (amongst others), by the Nazi's in Germany during the 1930's and 1940's. What happened in Europe during those times, is wrong and indefensible and should not be forgotten. However, the treatment of Jews in Europe 80 years ago does not excuse, justify or mitigate the treatment of Palestinians by Israeli's in the occupied land of Palestine today.   Friday January 21; Israeli soldiers attacked the weekly nonviolent protest against the Annexation Wall and Settlements, in

Barry George loses compensation bid

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/jan/25/barry-george-jill-dando-compensation Judges rule that man wrongly convicted of murder is not entitled to miscarriage of justice payout   Barry George spent 8 years behind bars   Jill Dando was shot dead outside her home in Fulham in April 1999.   This is insane. Barry George did not kill Jill Dando. He was however convicted and spent 8 years in jail before having his conviction overturned. To refuse a compensation claim for lost earnings and wrongful imprisonment is wrong and indefensible, particularly when compared to other awards for compensation made in our courts. The decision must be overturned immediately, and George should be adequately compensated for the injustice.

It's a family matter.

The Al Khalifa family continue their state terrorism, assisted by the Saudi's, while the United States and Europe (including the UK), look on in silence but still sell them arms and "riot control" equipment.       Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa with Sec. Clinton David Cameron and King Hamad bin Issa al - Khalifa Princess Noura Bint Ebrahim al-Khalifa, seems to be "one of the family" just like the others. Incidentally, the Al Khalifa family moved to Bahrain in 1797. Originally, the family lived in Umm Qasr  where they preyed on the caravans of Basra and pirated ships in the Shatt al-Arab  waterway, until Turks expelled them to Kuwait where they remained until 1766. In 1820, the Al Khalifa tribe were recognized by Great Britain as the rulers
